My mother 85 has £10000 in income bonds paying around £39 , month she is a none tax payer could she do any better with a savings account,should she swop.

New savings account
Hi, My other half and I, are on the way to getting a mortgage and thought in the meantime we should set up a new joint bank account so we can make weekly or monthly payments of £20 - £30 to help with bills when we move in. Any advice on where currently is the best place to open a joint account? All help welcome.

Am i correbt in saying that you cannot have the a&l regsaver paying 12% as well as their current account paying 8.5%. So which is better to have based on £2500 max in current account and £250pm in 12%?

Hello, I realise that this isn't a savings account. If £1000.00 or over is paid in....how many days interest does it earn? Do you get 4% for the remainder of the month (after the payment is made)? Cable & Wireless bond currently at 8.43
ECW1 (Cable 8.75 06 Aug 2012) - cable & wireless bond which currently has a gross redemption yield at 8.43, matures in 2012. Any opinions if this is a good place to stash £4000 through my mini ISA? My RBS PEP is changing into a stocks and shares ISA on April 6th. What is probably my best option here. Cash the ISA and change to a Cash ISA only or Keep the stocks and shares ISA. There is no option to have the PEP changed to a Cash ISA.
