Is it time to go fixed for cash?
Looking at all the doom and gloom around I'm wondering now whether the predicted rise in interest rates will now happen. So, have interest rates now peaked and is it the time to look for short term fixed deals for cash savings. My best savings account is with Icesave but I've seen fixed rates of 6.7 for one year.

Who Owns the UK's Debt
About two months ago i posted a thread about the impact on banks after a house price crash, to which i got some very helpfull replies. What i didn't count on was the way this credit crunch thing has affected the stock markets and the way the high risk debts have been moved around the world all of which could bring on the…

Your thoughts please on A&L Direct saver/Icesave/Sainsbury's
Have recently opened an A&L Premier account and associated regular saver for a year. Probably won't bother keeping the current account after the year is up. Tesco
I was under the impression that Tesco's had an internet saver paying 6.5% on balances above £50,000 for six months. Then at six months the rate was being reduced? So, I registered for an account, but now I see there is no six month bonus rate being advertised? Any advice as to what has happened here? Have I missed the…

How can I trace money I invested years ago?
This is going to sound really odd but please bare with me. :) Back in 1986 I took out a monthly savings plan with Allied Dunbar. Confused by Regular Savings accounts! Help!
Having read the interest rates for the Yorkshire BS, I'm confused by the 7.1% rate. Is this the rate plus their bonus if you make don't make any withdrawals in the financial year? or is it inclusive?? If so, should I be opening an account with them now considering that we are already well into the 'financial' year? Hope…
