Help on savings Accounts?

Hi

I cant really get to grips with the info about regular savings acc's and the other ones etc and i am looking for advice

We have £4-5000 just now sitting in our current account, i want to put it into something to gain inteserest for six months at least wont be a full year, but we now have £700 per month on top of that we want to save as well, whats the best way to go about this?

    Heres a list of different accounts with their rates, see one that you like then go to the providers website to see the terms and conditions, a lot of accounts pay interest annually, some monthly like the HSBC at 6.25% AER, 6.08 Gross but you lose a months interest if you make a withdrawal during that calendar month
