What investment next?

I’m quite risk averse and I would like to protect my capital but hopefully make a bit more on top. Does anyone have…

Savings account with instant access for 16yr old
I would like to encourage my 16 year old daughter to save - as opposed to instantly spending - her money. I thought a good idea would be a savings account with instant access - perhaps with a card, that we would direct debit her pocket money into each week, plus xmas and b'day moneys - and hopefully a saturday job salary…

FTSE 100 newbie!
I currently have 10k US$, and possibly more coming in the next few months. (20-30k total) I am willing not to touch the money for up to 3 years. The plan is to exchange it into GBPs and invest it in my HSBC regular at 8%. But with those poor foreign exchange rates, I'm afraid I might lose in the end! Right now, I…

How to pay Derbyshire BS regular saver
Did you know that the Derbyshire pays interest from the day a cheque is received? If the cheque is drawn on an interest bearing current account, there will be a few days' overlap during which you'll be getting double interrest! Not many banks or building societies pay money on cheques from day one.
