Ditching the AA
Just a quick post. I signed up for the AA postal and internet savings account in May. If I close it now (to move to the Indian Bank account) will I still get the interest for the period I had the account open? Cheers.

Abbey National shares. Is it a good time to sell???
We hold Abbey shares. Is it too late to sell them free(as their original offer)? Is it worth keeping them? How much are they worth now? Thanks for any advice.

First Direct e-savings the best?
I have £14000 to put in an easy-access account with online access. A month ago, bradford and bingley had theirs at 5.25%, but that has now appeared to drop to 5.10%. So the best I can now find in first direct at 5.20%. Anyone know of a better option? How good is the first direct account? All advice / comments welcome

Splitting lump sum to invest
We are shortly going to have a lump sum of £40,000. Our thoughts are: 1. Invest some safely for our 13 year old to have access at 18 and 21. 2. Invest some safely for ourselves! As we have very little income coming in at present we'll also need access to around £1,000 per month. What would be the best way to invest lump…

Offshore Accounts???
I know that it is actually illegal not to declare interest on offshore savings for tax purposes, but before I put any money in some, do you have to do it each year or only when bringing the money back onshore? And what are the implications of the new EU directive?

Silly question....
Hi, This is probably really basic stuff, but I've just read a thread on living off interest and came across the phrase 'stooze pot'. It seems to be a method of investing someone else's money and pocketing the interest? I've probably got it totally wrong and look forward to receiving the correct definition! :o

Nationwide E-Savings
I've just activated an e-savings account on my nationwide flexaccount. During the online activation it mentioned this ; If you are eligible for interest to be paid gross, you'll need to complete a new Inland Revenue form R85 for your e-savings.
