Short term savings?

We're going to sell our house soon and rent somewhere in the new area until we find a property we like.

What should I do with the £80k of equity we're hoping to have for that 6 months to a year?

Portman BS has a six month 90 day notice account paying 5.55% variable (includes 0.8% six month bonus) which opens today.

Why not put it in there (but only if you are going to rent on a six month contract). Make sure to dive 90 days notice to pull the money out after six months when you can put it in the best instant access account?

I know that opinions are divided about the housing market, but the direction should be clearer by next January/February and those that failed to sell this Summer may be getting an overdue reality check at that stage.
