O2 HomePhone now from £7.50
Just noticed today that on O2's website, their homephone starts from £7.50. I didn't see this mentioned in Martin's HomePhone article but I may have missed it. This price is without any inclusive calls (you have to pay £2+ for inclusive calls). However, for those like me that are just looking at broadband and have a mobile…

Phone off-hook indicator device, where to buy?
Hi, I have an elderly relative that has a habit of leaving their phone of the hook for hours then of course they deny they ever did :-) Is there any device that could be fitted that might alert them to the fact that they have not replaced the receiver correctly, i.e. a light that is on when the phone is in the off-hook…

18185 not working - reply from 18185
I get the familiar message "the number you have dialed has not been recognised". I've checked my account and everything seems normal. And I've tried to report a fault to 18185 via their website without success - the form doesn't like my phone number! Mobile doesn't work either, but no message just silence. Any suggestions?

Talktalk house-moving misery
A warning for anyone moving house who has talktalk as their provider: I had talktalk at my old house. I phoned Talktalk lots of times to discuss moving, but decided not to use their transfer package. Whenever I got…

BT Evening and Weekend Plan
I'm on BT's Evening and Weekend Plan - just at the end of my second year. Got a letter to say they would automatically renew it for a further 12 months if I do nothing. I dislike these sorts of plans. I don't object to an initial tie in period but when they keep renewing it I tend to get suspicious - is it really in my…

Are BT trying another form of blackmail?
My latest telephone bill was dated 13th September, received 4 days after that, and has to be paid 7 days after the invoice date. There are non-business days (obviously) within that week's 'window of opportunity' to pay,and then, as usual, the 'red one' will be computer generated. I don't want to pay by direct debit and I…
