Phone off-hook indicator device, where to buy?

Hi,

I have an elderly relative that has a habit of leaving their phone of the hook for hours then of course they deny they ever did :-)

Is there any device that could be fitted that might alert them to the fact that they have not replaced the receiver correctly, i.e. a light that is on when the phone is in the off-hook state?

I know some phones do this but we need to use a particular phone, so replacing the phone is not an option.

I know this is pretty niche market but surely other people have similar problems?

It's the worry of being hundreds of miles away and not being able to get through all night for example.

Thanks
