BT Direct Debit Problem
I found out today BT have taken money from my bank account without informing me in advance - I'd signed up for the paperless billing in order to avoid the "priviliage" of paying £4.50 just to pay my bill! I checked my BT account online and there was no details about any bill due for payment. On contacting BT by phone it…

BT Total Broadband - downgrade loophole?
I initially signed up for BT Broadband Opt 3 a few months ago (hub and phone included - most expensive package) I've just downgraded to Opt 1, which is cheaper but does not include the hub or phone. At no point did they ask for the hub or phone back. I was just given an activation date of tomorrow. Anybody else done this?

BT Payphones
What is the cheapest way to use a BT Payphone in the UK? Dialling direct seems to incur a minimum charge of 40 pence and using phone cards seems to incur a cost of 15 pence imposed by BT. Doers anybody know of a phone card for which BT does not impose tjhis 15 pence connection charge?

How to contact CONNECT TELECOM UK ?
Connect Telecom UK recently failed to collect £1.86 from my bank by DD. I wrote to the customer services…

Phone goes riiiiiiiiiiiiing
Moved house last year and the land line wiring seems slightly odd. The phone line comes into some sort of junction box (with the old BT logo on it). From this comes the wire to the master socket and a wire to an upstairs extension. Earlier this year, I got an electrician to remove the old extension and put a new one…

Penalty to leave internet/phone provider - possibly breaking unfair contract rules?
Just wondering - are phone/internet providers breaking unfair contract rules by charging penalties to leave? Eg - Talktalk charges £70 to leave as a customer when locked into their standard 18 month contract. Under the unfair contract rules, can they be forced to prove that it costs £70 to administrate the closing of one…
