We are with Talk Talk now (I can't recommend it!).
Do we still have a "BT landline"?? I have been using the override numbers to phone abroad and now one of them tells me "the prices given are only for a BT landline"....

If your line rental is still with BT, they'll be billing you.
Are you getting such a bill every month or every quarter?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Dial 1280 followed by a working telephone number, if you get an answer then you are NOT on an unbundled (LLU) service. If you get a recorded message saying that the number you have dialled has not been recognized then you are on the Talk Talk LLU service. (Unlucky)Keeping the pedants at bay - dot an i or cross a t only if you feel you really can't stop yourself:p0

Hi Heinz! No, we are on the "Talk3" call plan and BB and they bill us. But I always thought the line was still BT who in turn had an arrangement with talk talk, for instance... I believe we enquired about the override Numbers and thought it was safe to use them and today is the first time I get a recording stating otherwise...0

Thanks Gorblimeyguvnor! I did get a message saying the Nº dialled had not been recognized... what does it mean? How much am I going to pay when I have used override Ns that state the price per minute???0

Well, I want to report that I checked the itemized bills and can confirm that at least the provider I use the most is charging the same... fiuu!! You might think I am too relaxed but the fact is that we pay by DD, my husband is the one who checks this particular bill and he is not around now....
Since there are so many people with Talk Talk perhaps it would be good idea to add to the International call checker info about what the charges are for them. Who is in charge of updating that service?0 -
What provider have you been using ? What was the access code/number.0

Several, because they change all the time and we have family all over the planet... I am not using 18866 any more and have checked online for some of the companies but they only specify what they charge with a BT line (I thought my line was still BT aamof). As I said, I have since found out the one I've been using more charges the same. Still have to research the others but I have noticed a lot of people here are on the TT plan, so it would be good to make this info generally available...0
