How to choose a cat!
More of a chat/moan then a question! I have always been bought up with moggies and loved each one in its own way, and then 2 years ago I ended up with the most friendly affectionate and fun Persian which made me appreciate pedigrees. Unfortunately I lost him to FIP at 8 months old. So I am now in the position where I will…

'Adorable' video of dog, no disgusting!
This dog is wiping its bum on the carpet. Inbreeding has probably not only produced a deaf bulldog but also one which can't wipe itself. What sort of paper would popularise this? You guess! Adorable video of deaf bulldog dancing to the vibrations of his master's blues guitar goes viral

scruff the small cat
we adopted 2 kittens 7 months ago, dylan the male is a healthy 4kg and a livewire (except he doesn't like going outside) but scruff the female varies between 2.8 and 2.9kg, picks at her food and is very clingy. both are fed a diet of butchers classic and hills kitten food plus the occasional pouch. scruff occasionally eats…

Very cheap IAMS for cats
Just a heads up for anyone who buys IAMS for their cats. I popped into my local Waitrose this morning and found that all of their IAMS dry catfood is half price (up until the 22nd Jan). This makes it about £7.40 for a 3KG bag of chicken, lamb or fish which is by far the cheapest I've ever seen it.

Cat food advice?
Am I feeding my cat too much? He will have one pouch of whiskas in the morning and one in the evening and around lunch time he has a bowl of dry food, which he will eat throughout the day. He weighs around 8kg. We tried to stop giving him his dry food to have around lunch time and just stick to morning and evening but he…

Mutt the sequel - it's nearly time. Or is it?
Hi All. My home circumstances have changed again, so the possibility of another dog is once again appearing across the horizon. There's still things to sort before I decide and start looking so if the hunt does begin in earnest, it won't be for a couple of months yet. I am getting quite excited though at the though of…

Can we ever get another pet?
We've had our cat since March this year and we love him to pieces. When any other cat comes into our garden he will make this horrible noise!! It sounds like a crying/screaming baby. The other cats never say anything back, they just look and stare. What is he doing? Is it normal? And do you think we could ever get another…

Poorly Cat
I have a beautiful white and apricot point domestic long hair and he spends a lot of his time grooming! Every now and then he will make this noise that's as if he's coughing, like a wheezing noise and he will turn his head from side to side. Then he will stop and act as if nothing happened. But at that moment, when he's…

1 out of 4 cats will not eat ANY dry food
Ok, perhaps this can be changed, perhaps someone can advise? Out of my 4 cats, Fred is the only one that will never eaver even touch dry food - ANY dry food. Teddy, George, Macius will eat dry and a bit of wet tinned food but Fred is just being a pain in the backside because of his NOT even wanting to try. He was like that…

Fluffy dogs and snow?
Hoping to get some advice. I have my first dog with 'hair' (my other dogs have been short haired) its not very long but he is fluffy and he is little. Snow is getting bundled up and freezing into ice in his coat when we go out. He is enjoying the snow a lot, but not enjoying the drying off afterwards.....its too 'meshed'…

Tips on encouraging a dog to eat?
My gorgeous GSD Tyson got rushed in to the emergency vets on Thursday night as he went off his legs and became very distressed and confused. Turns out he had a grapefruit sized tumor on his spleen which had ruptured. He had the tumor and his spleen removed once they eventually got him stabilised, and now I am waiting to…

Is there anything that can be done?
Hi, In our local area there is a man who has a dog that he knows attacks cats. Despite this he lets the dog off the lead and as such it is known to have killed three cats (that we know of - there is a few cats gone missing round where he walks his dog but nothing can be proven). He has been spoken to a few times about…
