Shopping Trolley bargain!
I have been thinking about getting a trolley for ages and have been reading the posts on here with great interest. I was wondering if the trolley on the M&S website was also available in the store so I went into town yesterday. As usual I had lots to do - so completely forgot about it. Then I needed to visit the 'ladies'…

1 cm rule
Apologies if this one has been on before. But cling film, glad wrap, saran wrap, whatever you call it is one of life's banes. I have a dear granny in the family who is not happy unless every leftover is wrapped in about 3 metres of the stuff, TWICE. As a result when she comes to stay we find these alien like objects in the…

History Of Food In England
I watched an episode of Heston Blumenthal's - Perfection recently when he did Trifle. During this episode he mentioned that the French (back in the 18th century) had a term they used for us, something like 'the rose beast' or something. And this was because we showed them how to roast meat I think. I found that quite…

Carpet cleaning advice
Please does anyone know what is the best way to remove vomit and cigarette ash stains from a carpet. I'm not scruffy; it's just that Neil, my husband, is not well and threw up on the carpet, and he's registered partially sighted and sometimes spills cigarete ash on the floor without realising. Thank you!

Aaaargh, he's undermined the money saving AGAIN
No dear, don't go buying a special potion to put on the tar stain in your passenger seat (gained by giving a tramp a lift) I said, I'll look up on my O.S. forum how to get rid of it. (Hooray, I thought my stock of white vinegar, bicarb etc. is going to be useful here....) I looked it up, and surprisingly one of the…

what can I do with cans of strawberries?
Some time ago my local Asda had reduced cans of strawberries to 10p each - so obviously I bought loads! Using the actual strawbs is no problem - used them for trifle, pies, crumbles etc. But has anyone any idea what I can do with the juice (not syrup) that they are stored in? The 99p store has 3 huge cans of mixed…

Help! My Healthier Lifestyle Is Giving Me A Budgetache!
The healthier I try to be the more financially frustrated I get. I've never been one to care much about what I ate as long as it was cheap and easy. Until recently . . . I've sprouted a conscience and a concern for my body's health - all at the same time and it's doing my budget in. In a big way! I do believe that I'm…
