Hi, I have a BMW 116i Series 1 (F20) car first registered in January 2015. The key fob has buttons that need to be pressed to unlock and lock the doors. The doors will not react to key proximity as some other makes and models do. However there is no ignition key. The car will start provided one of the keys is inside the…

onine car insurance
I have found a good quote online through one of the big insurance websites. I'd like to go ahead with it but need to make 2 small changes. One is the mileage that I think I will do. Do I get a chance to amend this when I press the button 'buy insurance' or do I need to go back to the quote and get an amended one?

Disposing of old brake fluid?
I'll probably take it to the local recycling centre, but don't remember any particular facilities there for dealing with brake fluid. Anyone tried? I've seen some posts about just throwing it in with the waste oil, but not sure if this is correct.

PCP contribution
I've read on the forum various (mainly negative) views on PCP deals, but have an interesting option. I'm buying a new car, and the manufacturer will make a significant contribution to the sale price if a PCP is taken out. The PCP contract allows for cancellation within 14 days. Assuming the 'advance payment' is the sum of…

Help with car options please.
Head gasket gone on our car (56 plate peugeot 207). Been quoted £800 to fix, cars not worth a huge amount more. We're in the middle of paying off some debt (all interest free), recently received a modest inheritance pay out which means we have about £1k-2k 'knocking about'. The plan was for it to go straight to the debt…

Whiplash scams & the UK's failure to prosecute

Can we do anything about toxic posts?
It seems almost every thread has some smart arris chipping in with something totally irrelevant like digs at the choice of car/brand when the post is about finance terms. As I understand it this sub forum has a bad repution for toxicity already, which is a shame because there's a lot of good advice hidden amongst the snark…
