Scrapping a car
Options
I am to get rid of my old car and have a new (used) one arranged.
Can you be paid its scrap value if you take it to an authorised ATF?
I am trying WeBuyAnyCar tomorrow and know I will be messed about so may just take it to a scrapyard instead.
Don't want the hassle of selling privately etc just want an easy way out.
Advice?

Yes, you can take it to a scrap yard and be paid scrap value.
They should pay it into a bank account.0 -
Scrapped a Puma recently and got £68.
Op- just drive it to a scrapyard with the V5 and they will take care of everything. Very quick and simple.0 -
I've used https://www.cartakeback.com/?gclid=CjwKCAiAvMPRBRBIEiwABuO6qYTtAB6HWAsEKFlTGjHLuypvCsGmXnEoH3pvAAiFH03tFALHKMmWmBoCoXUQAvD_BwE
You get a few quotes and decide who to go with, they come and collect the car.0 -
Thanks everyone. I will post later to let you all know if its hassle. I would take less money if it was nonsense free but as long as I can trust that I wouldn't get letters through the door regarding speeding tickets and accidents "My car" was involved in if you get my drift.0

Job done.
Yes they haggled it down a little but it was relatively painless.
If anyone uses webuyanycar they should know its not for everyone, and only in certain circumstances.
If you are getting rid of a reasonable or half decent car through them then you want your bumps felt.
But in my case quick and painless and straightforward.0
