Cancelling a DD on my account that's paying someone else's policy?
Awkward situation - GF's father persuaded GF to 'temporarily' allow his car insurance to be taken by DD from her bank account. Guess what, 8 months down the line, it's still coming out, and it's made her go overdrawn two months in a row, meaning I have had to pay it to bail her out. He has been asked politely to rearrange…

Salary Sacrifice Car
Hi all, Been looking at salary sacrifice car scheme at work and heard from someone who has one that after the first 12 months from delivery and the beginning of the sacrifice, their tax code has changed so they pay tax on more of their income. I don't understand this as I thought the whole point was that you don't pay NI…

More car sagas and woes
So last Wednesday the 1999 SLK passes its MOT and I am feeling a bit more confident about the car. Didn't start one week after purchase in March - just needed a new battery and the exhaust was blowing but just needed a clamp tightening. On Sunday reversed out of my parking space and it stalled- very unusual for an…

Advice needed - Cars covered in cement by neighbours!
Good morning guys, I could really do with some advise as what to do next.. On Sunday 28 August, we woke up to find our car (a 2016 Mazda Mx5) covered in cement dust. The neighbours had been doing some building work and had been mixing cement approx. 8ft away from the car (which was in our drive). Rather than brush it off…

death of registered keeper - vehicle tax
What happens regarding vehicle tax when the registered keeper/owner of a vehicle dies and the vehicle is inherited? As "the tax is no longer transferable", does that mean that technically the vehicle is no longer taxed when the owner dies and that it should not be used by anyone else who is an insured driver of the vehicle?

Anyone able to explain this car tax confusion?
Car bought as a stop gap on 31st July & taxed online that day. Towards the end of August a letter comes through as a 'final warning' saying the car isn't taxed & needs to be - money came out of the bank though & the date stamp is 2nd August. Replacement car bought so this stop gap car is now going to be sold. Declare it…

Would the police do anything about this car blocking both mine and my neighbours gates? It's been there all day. 30MPH Flashing warning signs
I have seen a 30MPH Flashing warning sign on a A road where the speed goes from 60 to 30 Can these signs catch people exceeding 60 in the 60 zone or are they just to warn if someone exceeds 30 in the 30 limit? I have no issue personally but just wondered as I saw these being activated several times today.

Diesel
Loving my new diesel 207, had it nearly 2 months now. I fill up with £20 of diesel when it hits red and I get half a tank which gives me loads of miles. It's like night and day compared to my 15 year old gas guzzling Megane that drunk petrol quicker than I could fill it!
