Warranties, garages and such
After 22 happy years of motoring, I'm considering replacing my third ever car in the next couple of years. Apart from my first ever car (10 year old Fiat Uno with 67000 miles, that I took up to about 120,000) I've only ever bought new (VW Polo which I got rid of far too early at 110,000, and my current Suzuki Ignis which…

Astra boot problem
I have an 1.6 Atra sxi. Yesterday my boot suddenly stopped working. the washers still work so I don't think its a fuse issue. I had the same issue couple years back, that time I simple opened the boot from the inside, opened it up, and cleaned the crap that had built up - worked fine. this time is different, the button…

Question re taxing my car
Hello. Hope someone can advise me. :) I went to put 12 months tax on my car this morning, (it's due 1st August, but you can put it on a few days early of course...) So I gave the woman all the documents, and paid the money, and she did what she needed to do to process the request, and then gave me a receipt for the money.…

Car shopping - I know nothing about cars!
At the moment I drive a petrol Vauxhall Zafira, I've loved it for 12 years (its 15 years old) but it's old, a tank that costs a lot to run and I need something smaller. I do less than 5000 miles a year and the majority of my driving are short journeys. It's MOT is due beginning of September and tax is up end of August, I…

driving test location
I live near London. Am I right in thinking that I can take a driving test (assuming I ever bother to try again) in any location I wanted too, even if I don't live there? So even though I live near London, I could book my driving test for somewhere like Ballater in Scotland which has a pass rate of about 80% if I wanted too?

Bluetooth Hands Free alternative?
We just had a new company Audi A1 delivered, which although nice, has failed to have Bluetooth installed (even the garage couldn't work it out on the settings!) Anyway to cut a long story short, and no go to the cost of retro-fitting this, what alternatives are there for just making and receiving calls whilst travelling,…

PCP on second-hand car - worth it?
I'm looking at getting a newer car as mine nearly 4 years old and I don't want to 'run it into the ground' and start again in years to come. I've been looking at a car at the dealership that sold me the car I have now, and they've recommended a PCP on 2 year old car (Ford Fiesta). The price of the car is £10,700, and…

Civil claim after accident
Not sure if this is the right place for this but it's the closest I could find. I was speaking to my Dad today and he was giving me an update on an accident he was involved in a few weeks back. He rides a motorbike and was travelling along a 30mph road when up ahead he saw a woman stood waiting to cross the road. She was…

Been advised by garage to undertake unnecessary work.
I recently (May 2015) purchased a used Volvo from a used car salesman linked to a Toyota dealership. It came with a three month standard warranty which required the car to go back there should any work be required. In June it developed an issue and the engine went into limp mode. Where I bought it was about 60 miles away…

When switch ignition off a two tone alarm sounds. Any ideas? Thought battery at first but same results when hooked up to jump pack.
