16 yr old and first bike
Our GS who will be 16 in June would like to have a trial bike. My OH is under the impression that if he buys a 125 trial bike and gets it restricted to a 50cc this is ok for him to ride until he is 17 then get it de-restricted back to a 125cc. Grateful for any replies

Someone I know has received a Section 59 notice. Filled in and given to them personally. They have no problem with the warning, they admitted to the behaviour. The form has the incorrect registration number (one digit wrong) and the address of the driver and car's owner, although they live at the same address one of them…

We got a lease car in April last year it came with lots of small black spots of (what seems like) tar all round the bumpers, I took pictures of this just in case they don't come out and I sent them to the lease company (no reply). Later on in the year we had the MOT come round and we had 4 advisory requirements; tyres and…

Forged signature on V5C log book!
What does the DVLA do when they are informed that the signature on the V5C to transfer the registered keeper was forged? It has only recently happened, we received an 'acknowledgment' from the DVLA saying that the registered keeper had been changed so we phoned and told them this was not done by us and sent everything back…

Washing a car that has been coated with something???
I've just bought a nearly new car. I have washed it twice, but it leaves water bubbles all over, after hosing down the car. The bubbles dry out & leave dirt stains. I tried sponging them up on the second wash, but no matter what I did there is always some kind of smaller bubble that again leaves dirty spots. I think the…

Am collecting new car on Monday. My vw Polo 1.4 auto 2005 38,000 miles (have had it since new) has idling problems and jerky when in slow traffic. Have had throttle cleaned and valves looked at but still a problem. Garage says new throttle body needed £300 + labour. I was planning to sell for about £3,500 with room to…

Automatic License Laws
Hello all, I have an auto only license. My car is a semi-auto, until now I've only been driving it on the main auto control. I was just wondering if legally I would be allowed to drive using the 'semi- auto' part, i.e. going up and down the gears myself, there's no clutch. I'm mainly considering it as I'm having issues…

My OH is a trade plate driver - drives cars around the country to different depots. He's only had this job a month and has a clean license, never had a single point. He's 36 so not an inexperienced driver. Today a speeding ticket came through from the 26th Feb. He was caught going 58 in 50mph zone on the m1 (apparently…

Buy or rent a car?
I just got my drive license. I work in central London so I won't drive to work. I may occasionally drive during weekends. I live close to Gatwick airport so it's easy to reach car rental companies. So should I buy a car (used ) or rent a car when I need it? What's the yearly cost for running a car? As I am a new driver,is…
