Car wont jump start
My diesel Kia Sorento has always started first time, except once a couple of winters ago when I accidently did not close a door properly and flattened the battery. Charging it overnight sorted it out and starting has been trouble free ever since. However, yesterday I went to start it and there was no power. I am not sure…

Hello Guys, I am starting a catering trailer with the intention of travelling to events around the UK serving oriental food. The problem that I am finding is…

Reclined driving position in vans
I used zipvan for business and want to buy a 2004 era van. Really confused about which van to get because vw transporter has serious clutch issues. Ford transit have rust issues, and the renault/vauxhall/nissan (all based on same platform) have leaky windscreen gutter which pours water directly on top of the head and rusts…

Uninsured driver question
Hello Forum, I bumped (and dented) a car when reversing out of a parking space. When I got out of the car the other driver and I took photos of the damage to his car, and eachother's licence plates. We were both amiable as there were no injuries but when I asked for his insurance details he pointed me to his wife, who…

Locking wheel nut
Got a flat tyre on my touran. It needs a new tyre as a nail went through it. Mechanic can't get the wheel off as whoever did the tyre last time has locked it too much. He says it needs a new locking wheel nut. I know it has to be the correct one, how easy a&e replacements to come across? So annoying.

Ford Refused Warranty Repair
Apologies for the long post, but here goes. I've posted on here previously about an issue with my 2012 Ford Fiesta. Basically, the car has a fault where intermittently, the car gives a 'Transmission Malfunction, Service Now' error on the display and the gear change becomes erratic. It also has a separate fault where the…

What to do after minor incident
Hi all My wife was driving round a fairly busy roundabout on Wednesday when a metal office chair fell from the back of transit tipper type vehicle and hit the side of her car. As it was busy she kept going expecting the van to stop but it didn't. I would imagine the driver didn't see or hear it falling so would not be…

Is this unfair insurance terms?
I had a non-injury accident on black ice two days ago where my financed BMW met with a high kerb. End result is approximately £12k worth of suspension, steering and wheel/tyre damage. My insurer, eSure, indicated on the phone that I am required to pay the following excess charges: + voluntary excess (£150) + compulsory…

Poor car design
I do most of my car maintenance DIY and the bane of my life is poor design. An example was trying to switch an alternator today. The mounting bolt was right up against the inner wing, making it virtually impossible to get a spanner in. Other way round it would have been easy. I keep encountering this, bloody stupid design…

Recommend a theory test app
Hi all, I've booked my theory and it's in 2 weeks time. I'm on Android and was wondering if someone could recommend an app that's quite precise and up to date with it's questions? I'm aware some apps have very outdated questions which aren't very likely to come up in the test? If someone could advise on what's the best…

I need a car just for a few weeks - what's best?
As subject line really, I need a car just for a few weeks, I'll do max 20 miles a day. A hire car seems very expensive, buying a very cheap one might be around the same price perhaps? Are there alternatives? I'm not sure what best to do - can anyone advise? Thank you.
