DVLA or Court error?
Hi
Am trying to get to the bottom of who has made the error when sending out a letter from DVLA asking for licence to be sent in to have points added to a licence. DVLA have told me courts send an electronic message giving driving licence number only and then the letter is sent our electronically so it cannot be their error. I find this a little hard to believe as surely they would receive name address etc as well. Police have confirmed to me that there has been an error made and my licence number is not the one on their records for the convicted person.
Trying to get the points removed is proving a little difficult to say the least. I just want to find out who made the error and get them to rectify it!!
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Why do you find it hard to believe?
If you've ever worked in IT you will find many systems really dont have the basic checks and balances you'd have thought that any sensible system would have. Have seen things go very badly wrong because of the lack of them.
If the DVLA are saying they are just doing what the courts told them then go to the court0 -
Did you get anything in writing from the police?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

The only language they understand is money.
You will have to sue them for any losses caused and distress and harassment.
This makes them knock it upstairs to get dealt with.
Also make a complaint to their data controller in writing.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Why risk upsetting the apple cart.
One Judicial revue to a failed appeal at the high court and the PPC industry is dead in the water.
At judicial revue there is no le way other than case law, no arguing, no fancy barristers in suits, just 3 of the highest judges in the land and the rule book of established, not tested, established case law.
A PPC would have to be totally nuts to risk such a move.
A judicial revue goes against them and they are all bankrupt.
What on earth are you going on about? The OP has received a letter from the DVLA advising them about getting points getting added to their license post a court case? How do you get to parking tickets from points for a motoring offence?0 -
I suspect he was reading another thread in the Parking forum and replied here accidentally.0

Yes, luckily they sent an email which has been forwarded to the courts. Still waiting to hear from them mind! I will be asking for compensation for my time - approx 7 hours so far on the phone speaking to different people! Just want it sorted and to know who made the error in the first place so they can be held responsible. I won't hold my breath though!!0
