Crossover or SUV opinions please
I have to do a small amount of driving down unmade roads and farm tracks. So far my aging Mondeo has had 3 front springs and 2 shock absorbers - perhaps it's trying to tell me something! I'm considering buying a secondhand crossover but am perturbed by comments that they're not really designed to do any off tarmac stuff…

Virgin Trains less advance fares at peak times?
I wandered if i'm alone in noticing the reduction in the availability of advance fare tickets on virgin trains - particulary at peak times and specifically between London and Stoke-on-Trent? I used to be able to get an advance fare for a 9am or 9.20am departure up till a day or two before (unfortunately i usually can't…

Ford extended Mondeo warranty. Is it worth the money?
I have a face lifted 2L Mondeo diesel with a powershift gearbox. By the time the car is a year old next month the car will have done just 7,000 miles. Now the question is do I spend £570 extending the Ford warranty by an additional 2 years to 5 years or not? I have to make my mind up before the car is a year old to extend…

Parking about to get a nightmare
Another one of "Call me Daves" bits of half baked legislation. The coalitions response to rougue parking rip offs looks like it will be nothing compared to what they plan now. http://honestjohn.createsend1.com/t/ViewEmail/r/C18E967022893B54/723D36B7CC72433F1726EA5DA1051479

2nd hand winter tyres
Just wondering if anyone has bought part worn winter tyres off ebay? £120ish seems quite reasonable but would 4/5mm tread be fine in the snow? I've been on Kwik Fit and get some for £320 but a) it's too early for winter tyres and b) it's twice the cost for a lesser known brand Your opinions welcomed

Part-Exchange - how do we cover ourselves?
We are about to buy a Mini Cooper S, and part-exchanging a Ford Ka. The Ka is not worth very much, has rust and the driver door lock is dodgy. We have informed the dealer of this. How can we cover ourselves if the dealer realises the car is in a worse state than he thought, after the deal is done and he inspects it? Do we…

Slipping clutch Kawasaki GPZ500?
Hi all After changing the oil and filter on my recently acquired Kawasaki GPZ500 (D1 model, 1994/5) the clutch has been prone to slipping at higher revs, especially with a pillion or on hills. As far as I can tell, my clutch is correctly adjusted at the lever. Gears engage smoothly too. I don't know what oil the bike had…
