Commuting - Motorway vs Town
Hi all I have to make a regular commute, distance about 25 miles using the shortest route. Croydon to Langley. I'm using my own car. Petrol all paid by employer. Is it better to go down the M25 or through town? A. M25 route works out to around 45 miles. M25 takes about an hour and a half (unless there's an accident or…

Caught by speed camera
Hi, I've just been caught by a speed camera, I thought the limit was 40 but it must be 30. As it's such a big difference I'm a bit worried about what the punishment will be. I've looked around but it seems to be on the borderline. I've got no points. Does anyone have an idea of what I'm looking at, will it be three points…

Anti road rage.
As an antidote to the road rage thread. Does anyone have anything that other drivers do that makes them smile and makes the long journies seem so much nicer? For me there's the different signals that lorry drivers use when thanking you for leting them in. Left-right-left-right, left-right-right-left, The drivers who thank…

Seats on trains!
I am about to reserve seats on a FGW train to London. I am travelling with my elderly mother and the allocated seats come up as Coach B, Seat 60 (Window) and Coach B, Seat 56 (Window). I have put a table seat as a preference but I am wondering how this formation works. Will we be opposite one another?

Can anyone recommend a station to park/ride into London for the day?
At the end of the month we're flying back from holiday into Gatwick and then driving home. To cut a long story short, OH has always wanted to see Avenue Q which is closing shortly. As we very rarely go down that far south, the plan is to nip into London on the way home, see the matinee, grab something to eat and then go…

Is 'more efficient' fuel really cheaper?
I keep seeing adverts on the tv and at petrol stations informing me that if I switch to a particular brand of petrol/diesel then I can get more mileage from each tank of fuel. Obviously this should save money, but often the fuel is more expensive to buy in the first place. Does anyone know if the extra mileage makes it…
