NCP CHarge Notice

Hi
Hope someone can help / advise me.

I parked in a local NCP in Bristol today...bought a ticket at 10:39 which was valid for 2 hours. I got back to the car at 11:46 and had a parking contravention charge notice- for not clearly displaying a valid ticket so I have to pay £50 in 14 days or £100 in 30 days.
What really annoys me is that the attendant saw us buy the ticket and put it in the windscreen.

I have tried to appeal online but its not showing on their system yet. I cannot afford this damn fine and am not really sure what I can do about it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Laxie

What does the attendant seeing you purchase a ticket have to do with anything? It does seem a little harsh that you were only 7-minutes late back to the car though. I suppose you could appeal it on the grounds that 7-minutes doesn't really take in to account the time differences some peoples watches have...

EDIT: Ignore what I have just said...I have now read the post again after realising you were back in time, lol.

I suppose this is a bit different then, what made the ticket obscured?
  • Thats what we cant understand- it was visible at the top of the windscreen and could easily be read.....

Take a look in the parking board linked to at the top of the motoring section of the forum :) In summary ignore, do not pay, do not appeal.
  • I got a parking notice in Edinburgh, they took a picture of the car and as my windscreen was so shiny and reflecting the sun you could not see the ticket.

It was fraud, pure and simple the traffic warden exploited that to get an image where you could not clearly see the ticket to try and extort money from me.

Anyway, I took my own pics from different angles then complained to them and had the charge removed but they were not for admitting it was their mistake.
  • Thanks peeps...will be ignoring it I think!
