Exhaust price!
ATS are charging me £533 pounds for a new exhaust on my peuguot 53 plate 206 diesel HDI. Is this about the right price? It seems a lot of money. The man at the shop said that they couldn;t do it cheaper as exhausts are now type approved. Does this price sound right?

Windscreen damaged by car cleaners
My son took his car to be valeted on Friday and, when he picked it up, saw they had badly cracked the windscreen. They deny all knowledge of causing the damage and have given him an Incident Report form to fill in and send off to claim from them. The crack is so large that the car is now illegal to drive. There is a phone…

Car damage in 'secure' carpark
Hi Looking for a bit of advice from people who may have had a similar problem. I went on a 5 day trip by a large ferry company (unnamed as Ive emailed them and awaiting reply), and parked in their £12/day 'secure' carpark, as the surrounding area is a bit dodgy. On the way home, I stopped for petrol/air pressures, and…

Keep it or get a Diesel
I have a volvo S60 2.0T. 107k on the clock with a full service history. Starts every time and never let me down. However the ride is awful ! I've been told that 3 of the wheels are buckled but don't know what affect this would have on its normal ride. The car isn't fun to drive on backroads and with some of the potholes…

Advice needed for buying a car
This is a plea from a car-buying idiot. I'm looking to buy a new (to me) car. I want something compact - hyundai i10/20, nissan micra, ford ka etc - but have no preference what, as long as it's comfy to drive. It'll be used most of the time for shortish trips (up to 30-45 mins), with occasional longer haul trips (london to…

Skooshies on Lupo not skooshing to full skooshiness
Those lovely wee waterjets which remove the mank from my window have decided to throw a wobbly and now the drivers side is only skooshing out a quarter of the water. Tried poking it with a pin but here doesn't appear to be any blockage. Anyone got any further ideas for getting it to work fully again? My gut tells me I'm…

4wd recommendations?
I live in a small community down a private track, where winters have been getting progressively worse. When our track gets slippy, only 4 wheel drives can make it out. My neighbour swears by his little Suzuki Jimny. But I've heard it's a rubbish ride generally. I need something that is capable in wintry conditions but…

Buying a near new car..advice please
I went yesterday to a local Ford dealer considering buying a near new s-max for the family. They gave me a reasonable price for my car as part exchange.
