Mortgage on property next door to pub
So we've put an offer in on a share of freehold flat in a smallish building. We were aware from the beginning that we may struggle to get a mortgage however, because the building is next door to a pub. This is in a small village, and the pub is a country pub which is mainly used by walkers, so not a rowdy one! The pub…

Well, I’ve recently had 1 default on my credit file that dropped off YAY. There was still a balance remaining on the debt (the debt was with barclaycard, sold to PRA). I followed some advice on legal beagles and sent a CCA request to PRA, who came back to me and told me that the debt was unenforceable. I no longer pay…

How have asking prices for property changed in your area since summer?
I have noticed on Rightmove the asking prices for flats in my part of outer London have dropped by over 10% since the summer. How have asking prices in your area changed? I was lucky enough to secure a 2.29% rate for my flat this summer, at the peak of the market. However new flats in the same development has now had their…

Mortgage with a default.
Hi, I'm July 2020, I defaulted on payments on an Argos card. It was an error in my part and as soon as I was advised I paid it off in full instantly over the phone. I think the amount was around £170. Me and my partner now want to get a mortgage. I'm not a first time buyer. We have zero debt, a decent income and 10%…

Offset Mortgage
I have a mortgage with Clydesdale the best switch fixed rate I can swap to is 5.37 over 5 years. The offset rates which are 2 years are quite a bit lower. My question is - how much savings do you have to have to have an offer mortgage? It appears that Clydesdale only do offset or fixed rate. Thanks

Cancelling my mortgage direct debit to make my ex pay it
I have been separated from my husband for 2 and a half years. We are unable to divorce until a financial settlement is reached, which he keeps refusing to do (stalling, not returning paper work, refusing to answer estate agent phone calls). I do not live in our jointly owned home as I left him, however the mortgage direct…

Halifax not sending me letters regarding my mortgage
My mortgage is up in the Spring, but Halifax haven't been sending me any letters regarding it for over a year, and they've ignored my request for more info & to email me the missing (and any future) letters rather than just posting them. I contacted them to complain and they insisted they have sent them out, confirmed the…
