Hi all
Mortgage offer from Santander, offered in August, expires 30th Dec.
Due to complete 8th December
My mobile phone contract is up and I want to change to a different provider which will of course include a credit check.

Obviously don’t want to rock the boat so close to completion, am I safe or should I wait until the house purchase is complete?
I’ve read some providers perform a last minute credit check before releasing funds and I’d never forgive myself if I messed things up by a simple mobile phone contract.
Thanks
Thanks

Why risk it for 2 weeks?2

Sorry sir we wont be able to give you a mortgage because you have changed your phone to O2...
Don't worry about it, the majority of lenders do not run a hard check at completion.0 -
The general view is no new credit applications. For the sake of 2 weeks I would leave it.1

There are some cracking deals on with BF this week but I think for the sake of £5-6 a month saving, I’d rather give that up than run the risk of buggering the house purchase up!0 -

Should not have any effect, but maybe wait till completion.0

Spoke to our mortgage advisor who said it’s fine and the only check Santander will likely do is a bankruptcy check. All done and sorted, gone sim only for £7 a month. Some cracking deals on HUKD if anyones looking!1
