Hello,
Has anyone had any success in applying for a mortgage offer extension with HSBC recently?
Looking like I may require one so curious about other's experiences. I will apply for one either way as I guess the worse HSBC can say is no..

I asked my broker back in July as we were waiting for probate, and they said that HSBC do not extend offers.0

HSBC do not extend offers. However if you make a small amendment to the details then they will reissue the offer and it will have another 6 month expiry date on it.
So ask to increase of decrease your loan by £1000 and you will get another 6 months. Ask to extend it and they will say no1 -
Thanks both.
@JMA74 - By asking to increase/decrease the loan would that not make HSBC scrap the current interest % offer that I have and move it to the higher values that are now 5% plus ?0 -

HiApologies for jumping on the back of this post, I came across it whilst looking for information about HSBC mortgage extensions. My vendors new build is holding up the chain for my house move, my buyers mortgage offer runs out 10th April but my onward property won't complete till potentially end of May. My buyers have already broken the chain my moving out of their property. To prevent me and my family being made homeless for 8 weeks, I'm wondering if it could be a solution that I offer a lower price on the sale so that they can change their mortgage offer resulting in a another 6 months extension, as per what I've read above. Can you confirm if this is still possible to do with HSBC and are there any negative repercussions that might come about? I don't want to risk my buyers losing their mortgage offer. If they asked their Halifax mortgage advisor, would they confirm it is the case? Many thanks for any help in advance.0
