Just been approved subject to valuation by Halifax for an HTB mortgage on a new-build flat. I have an application pending with Halfiax for this product currently. Will this now be cancelled, or will it still proceed due to app being submitted before withdrawal of the product? If the former, will we be offered a 3 or 5 year fixed as an alternative (both of which are still offered at this LTV) or will we have to…

Any hope of me getting a mortgage as self employed?
Hi, is there any point in me trying to get a mortgage as a self employed person earning not very much? Average about 13K a year and have about 10k saved. Accounts back to 2012. (Good credit score and no debt anywhere ).. I only want about 60K mortgage so not a huge amount. But I don't think they'd lend to such a low income.

So I’m 51, in a good job that I can realistically continue in until retirement, no debts (although a loan only just paid off), good credit history - looking to buy having rented for 20 years - can I realistically expect to get an 18 year mortgage? I have approached an online broker who are very blasé about mortgages until…

London Flat Remortgage - Non Traditional Construction (NSC)
Hi all, I am looking to remortgage my flat. It is a Large Panel Construction, though not of a known common type (Laing, Wimpey no-fines, etc). I bought in 2007 and did not realise the challenge that NSC can face, indeed I did not know it was a Non Standard Construction. My current lender would now not lend on this property…

How far in advance of end of fixed term to start the remortgage process?
So I know it’s way to too early now, but next May my fixed 2 year mortgage is up and I was wondering how far in advance of the fixed rate ending I should start the process of finding a new mortgage? A bit of a Google suggests it can take around 8 weeks to get the mortgage sorted, so maybe 3 months, so month to find a deal…
