1 month wait for a valuation (e.surv / Halifax)

Just been approved subject to valuation by Halifax for an HTB mortgage on a new-build flat.  The salesperson at the developer has just been in touch to say that the earliest appointment available was 7th of September, literally a month from now.
Couple of questions for anyone who might be in the know:  is this the norm at the moment for everyone?  And am I likely to have to submit updated bank statements, payslip etc again next month as the valuation has taken so long to do?
Anyone else's experiences please share!

Im in the process of HTB ( although Barclays) I waited 17 days for a survey ( approved subject to valuation) that took 11 minutes , got the offer next day. 

Depending what’s the stage of you build
You might want to start you searches as they might take a while ( like over a month ) . 

Once you have you offer you solicitor will need to get one ( in the post takes about a week ). Apply for ATE etc , and in my case the product on the offer was wrong so another week gone .
everything now is painfully slow .
