Help!
My ex and I bought a house back in 2011 and split up shortly after. He has been living in the house ever since and paying the mortgage on his own. He won’t sell up and can’t afford to buy me out but he is in arrears and I am starting to panic at what effect this has on me. Does anyone know what my options are?

I currently share & occupy a house with my ex partner. We own it 50/50. It's worth around £420k and the mortgage is £280k. We're on a standard variable rate as our product expired last year but due to our relationship ending we haven't committed to a new mortgage. Id like to buy her out of the house and could comfortably…

Banks’ mortgage deals
Just wondered how often banks revise their rates for their mortgage deals? Does it happen with set regularity, e.g. every month? Does it happen on a specific day of each month? Or is it more ad hoc than that? Thanks!

Fixed Rate Deal ending - are we stuck on AVR? Halifax.
Our Fixed Rate mortgage ends soon, at which point we will move onto the banks variable rate/standard mortgage rate for interest. This will amount to around a £200 a month increase in mortgage payments. We were right at the end of taking out another mortgage deal when all this started kicking off (documents signed and sent…

BoE 0.1% base rate, why aren't mortgage providers passing this on to eligible customers?
Bank of England has dropped its base rate to a historic 0.1%, people like myself who have tracker mortgages are not being passed on this rate, surely these mortgage providers should be reported to the FCA.

New Build Chipping
Anyone buying a new build thinking of asking for a reduction in the price due to the current situation? What are the implications? ie if you got £x off, I was thinking you could ask for as a deposit contribution. If they said yes would you then need to get an updated mortgage offer?

7 years left should i move
Hi Not very good with mortgages/money, but i was told by a friend that it would be to my advantage to look at changing my Standard Variable Rate mortgage to another type or mortgage provider. I'm a bit skeptical as i owe £25500 with only 7 years left. A broker charging £100+ just for an answer seems a lot. Can anyone help…

Should I still buy
So the lenders appear to be limiting loans to 60% LTV. Well the indemnity companies are anyway.
Which sort of suggests but not guarantees that house prices may drop.
Buyer beware and all that.
Our economy is going to take a long time to recover from this and everyday more and more smaller and larger companies will take…

Barclays timescales
My mortgage application was submitted on 16th March and an amendment (different product due to change in LTV) was submitted 23rd. My broker has told me that credit check has been passed and the automated valuation has been done and is fine, we are now just waiting for an underwriter to review my documents. They can't give…

BOE new rate not applied on mortgage
I was going to remortgage with my current lender, Coventry however they have not updated their rates to the new BOE base rate. Could it be a possibility they will not update their rate? Can mortgage lenders not lower their rate even if BOE reduces the rate? Thank you

HSBC Remortgage change in rates.
Hi. My mortgage is due to finish 31/5. House was/is on the market and before all this started the idea/Hope was we would have a buyer and be able to complete soon after the mortgage ended freeing us up to look for a new mortgage. New plan is to stay put so I looked at the remortgage offer and since we received it a few…

Halifax - Stuck on a SVR
Hi, I’m in a bit of a dilemma. I currently have a property which I used to live in which I’m renting out. It’s on a consent to lease with Halifax with the current fixed rate coming to an end. I got in touch to see if I could switch to a buy to let, as I don’t intend to move back into the property. I now live in Australia ,…

Remortgage deals disappearing rapidly?
Hi I am trying to get a tracker/variable rate mortgage with a low ltv <50% but the deals seem to being withdrawn rapidly. Are more likely to come on the market or do these strange time mean mortgage lenders are getting jumpy? Thanks for advice. Have never remortgaged before.
