My ex and I bought a house back in 2011 and split up shortly after. He has been living in the house ever since and paying the mortgage on his own. He won’t sell up and can’t afford to buy me out but he is in arrears and I am starting to panic at what effect this has on me. Does anyone know what my options are?

Is the mortgage still in your name? If so , it would 100% affect you. You signed the papers and agreed to be jointly responsible. I'm not sure what you could do to move forwards. Good luck.0

Yes it will effect you, and maybe you should take over the payments, and force the sale of the property, if there are no dependant children involved (yours) regardless if he has another partner or children, its only your children together that could hamper you with a forced sale, no kids involved just get to the solicitor and get the for sale sign up, otherwise it will be repossessed and you will still be financially responsible for any shortfall after the 'auction'.0
