We are FTB's and already have a decision in principle. However I am a little concerned about my OH's electoral roll status. Hi :hello: In May I bought a house with my boyfriend. Due to his poor credit rating the mortgage has soley been taken out in my name and so the house is also in my name alone. So we are buying a new build with Redrow in December, ready to move in June 2014. We are using the HTB scheme; 5% deposit, 20% equity loan so we mortgage 75%. The best 2 mortgages we can find (and the mortgage adviser) is Natwest's 5 year fix @ 3.65% then SVR 4% or the Halifax's 2 year fix @ 2.99% then SVR 3.99%.. Now…

What kind of interest rate would topple you?
I have 21 years left to repay £170,000 and my payments are £1060 a month, about 5.1% until January 2016. Interest rates are at a historic low. If bank rates went up to a more normal 5% then I'd probably be paying about 8% which would see me paying about £1350 a month, which would be a hammering, but I could cope. At 10%…

Mortgage deal ends Jan14 - when to apply
Our current deal ends 28th Jan 2014. I feel that previously we got a stinking deal via a mortgage broker or perhaps it was simply our own fault at accepting it, or even the best deal for us at the time. My husband and i bought our first house together in 2000, I already had a smallish mortgage and it had been renewed in…
