Credit Card - Mortgage
Sorry I hope this makes sense and isn’t too much of a stupid question - If I pay my stamp duty and fees on my credit card (approx 3k) will this affect my credit rating and then affect my mortgage offer (I have it offered and waiting just waiting to exchange and complete) do they reassess it again type of thing? Or shall i…

Interest Only Penalty Advice.
Just discovered our £440K interest only mortgage with Northern Rock has an £11,000 penalty if we change before Nov 2014, reduced by 50% if we take out a different product. House has been sold and we both have a very good equity pot as we want to downsize. Is there anyway out of the penalty clause or do we pay?

Problems with Yorkshire BS?
I like the look of a 10 year fix that Yorkshire Building Society offer, but our broker has said that they're a bit of a nightmare to deal with and are slow at processing applications. Is that something other people have found? EDIT: Might have answered my own question :D http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews113547.html

His suggestion as I understand it is that he is offering me £15,000 for a 10% deposit payment on a house. His requirements are imo rather unrealistic (he lives abroad therefore may be a…

NRAM - couldn't care less
Has anyone had any experience of reclaiming mortgage exit fees from NRAM? They took two and a half years to tell me I didn't have a case, and a phone call made clear their contempt for ex-customers. A bad bank in more than one way. What a shower! FOS next stop.

Borrowing additional money on current mortgage
We have had an offer accepted on a house we really want to buy, but they want a quick sale so will not give us time to sell our house. I have arranged a first-time buyer's mortgage as I am not on the mortgage for our current house and we were going to get the rest of the money from our existing mortgage. We have overpaid…

Are we dependant on selling in order to buy?
Apologies if this subject has been covered before. We are looking to buy a house near my family and move in before spring due to having a baby. I'd rather complete before I'm too near my due date. Now we are in a good financial position with a 25% deposit, secure salaries, no debts and very good credit histories. You might…

Mortgage through broker or direct deal?
I have now seen a mortgage broker, as well as done my own research into what mortages are available, with a view to getting an AIP. single or joint mortgage?
When speaking to my bank they advised that if we applied for a joint mortgage but where my partner's income was not included then they would lend less as my partner would be 'financially dependent' on me. If I apply for a mortgage just on my single income will this make any difference? We're married, will be living…

Is It a Good Time to Get a 5-Year Fixed for FTB?
I had a mortgage application in place for a property purchase that fell through. I had supposed "financial advice" from the broker that was linked with the EA for that sale, and we decided on a 3-year fixed with Accord (which is 2.29% for the deposit I had but then reverts to a 5.99%). I now of course lost the valuation…
