Is renting it out an option?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

If it is in probate, no adverse effect on your credit, because the mortgage is still in the name of the deceased. If the lender is aware of your names they may try and lodge some adverse against you, but that would be wrong.
Are you able to sell at a price which will cover the mortgage? You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
I feel it might be best for us to cut our losses at this point - as well as struggling with mortgage, council tax, ground rent, and most lately a £3k roof repair bill, we're both struggling to move on emotionally.
Is the property occupied ?I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

I would advertising it for whatever the mortgage is plus fees/costs and a little bit more for offers.....is that anywhere near what others are selling for?
Are you getting any viewings or is the price too high or it is in that bad state?"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
Voluntary repossession will be cheaper than going through the courts. I suggest you change agent - or at least see what happens when a mystery shopper approaches the agent about your house - if it is advertised - or for a similar spec if it is not.
We have reduced the price again, at present it's still enough to cover the mortgage, but that's assuming it sells. I worry that we'll end up saddled with large legal costs if the bank decide to pursue repossession, otherwise at this point I think we would just let them take it back. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
