When Northern Rock splits into "Good Bank and Bad Bank"
What do you think the chances are that those in the bad bank will be offered to have part of there mortgage balance written off to enable them to remortgage elsewhere ? From reading on this board I know of Advantage Mortgages that did this as they were winding the business up. Isn't this the aim for the NR "bad bank", to…

Which lenders won't let you have a sole practitioner as your solicitor?
We recently had a mortgage agreed with Britannia but they called me today to say that we have to change our solicitor as they don't deal with solicitors who are sole practitioners (I didn't realise they axed sole practitioners in October!). Fine, we'll give our business to a lender who does deal with sole practitioners.…

BTL mortgage with low personal income?
I was looking into buy to let mortgages and it seems that some (all?) lenders require you to have quite a high seperate personal income in order to give you a buy to let mortgage, even if the rental income would easily cover the mortgage costs. Am I correct in thinking that or are there some that lend just on potential…
