Has anyone had to have an application for a mortgage with Halifax go to the underwriters for approval after a unsuccessful credit check? If so what was the reason they had to review the application and did they decline or accept the application, and what did they say their reason was if it was declined?

How long between mortgae offer and receiving money?
I'm taking out a mortgage on my house which currently has no borrowing against it. I'm expecting to receive my mortgage offer after the bank holiday weekend. Does anyone know if I will receive the money straight away or If I have to wait for a 'cooling off period' or anything?
