How long between mortgae offer and receiving money?

I'm taking out a mortgage on my house which currently has no borrowing against it. I'm expecting to receive my mortgage offer after the bank holiday weekend. Does anyone know if I will receive the money straight away or If I have to wait for a 'cooling off period' or anything?

you'll have to wait for the legal work to be done. You will get a pack through from the solicitors that will need completing, if you're using broker they will probably help you with this.
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!
  • So once the paperwork's signed and sent to the solicitor is it usually a matter of days or weeks?
I'm financing building work on an extension and was hoping to get it started sooner rather than later so that my sick mother can move in with me before christmas.
