Has anyone had to have an application for a mortgage with Halifax go to the underwriters for approval after a unsuccessful credit check?
If so what was the reason they had to review the application and did they decline or accept the application, and what did they say their reason was if it was declined?

Halifax normally make descisions on the dot.
If there is something else it would be an outstanding reason but not normally credit score for sure, it'll be more like fraud issues, income reasonability, cifas etc.0 -
I know this and this is why I am asking if anyone else has experienced their mortgage application being reviewed by underwriters. The reason I asked is because of incorrect information on my credit report which I am aware of and my bank who hold the account have tried to amend the fault but equifax refused to amend the fault even when bank several officials who have the authority to ask for amendments requested them to do it. Instead my application is being reviewed along with a bank managers letter stating the fault of the bank.
I needed real stories to ease my worry about all this mess and give me a realistic idea of what we can expect as we were told by the Mortgage adviser if the incorrect information was amended it would be accepted no problems as he was satisfied, however the underwriters process is stressing me out like a potential uni student needing all A's.
So please I am looking for stories from people who have experienced this process with Halifax.0
