Advice needed on what to do next?
Hi All, My A&L 5yr fixed 4.99% is finishing at the end of June. I was intending to take out another long term fixed, but with the deals out there at the moment, they don't seem very good value for money. Mortgage is for £137k LTV of about 48%. Does anyone think a short term traker or discount may be better at the moment,…

Halifax Consent to Let - Early Repayment Charges?
Hi, In a bit of a pickle and hoping to find someone who's been through this before. I applied for Consent to Let on my mortgage as I'm moving in with my girlfriend next month. The adviser said that'd be fine, I'd have to pay the product fee but there'd be no Early Redemption Charge. Checked my mortgage balance online today…

Remortgage as soon as i buy a new build?
Hello, This is my situation, i got a very very good deal on a new build. i paid £175k for a house that will easily be valued at £220-225k. Due to the circumstances there was only one bank we could get a mortgage with at 85% (10% was a 0% loan from the builder - therefore not many banks will accept this as a deposit). Now…

Worred now, Halifax want to do another credit check
I had my mortgage offer back in January. For various reasons, completion won't be for another 4 weeks. The mortgage offer is valid until July 31st so that's fine but the lady I spoke to said their credit search was only valid for 3 months so they will have to do another one. I'm worried now they'll turn it down. I haven't…
