Halifax Consent to Let - Early Repayment Charges?

Options
Hi,

In a bit of a pickle and hoping to find someone who's been through this before.

I applied for Consent to Let on my mortgage as I'm moving in with my girlfriend next month. The adviser said that'd be fine, I'd have to pay the product fee but there'd be no Early Redemption Charge.

Checked my mortgage balance online today and it had gone UP by £x,000! Phoned the Mortgages helpline and the woman said that it was normal that I'd have to pay an Early Redemption Charge and she don't know why the bank would have told me otherwise.

I plan to phone the branch to try to clear it up tomorrow but it'd be useful to know if others who've taken Consent to Let with Halifax have had to pay the early redemption charge?

I'm pretty annoyed if I do, given that I only had a couple of months until my fixed rate runs out anyway meaning I would have been better off waiting.

Cheers,
Neil
