Abbey Remortgage Advice Desperately Needed
Hi wondering if anyone can give me some advice in getting a Abbey remortgage. I've been told many many times to call them up and arrange a remortgage and I've done just that, countless times. Every time they say they're going to post some information to me, I wait weeks and nothing arrives. I've even requested them to post…

Fixed mortgage? Ditch & switch to a low rate deal.
Fixed mortgage? Ditch & switch to a low rate deal? After a political kick, most mortgage lenders' variable rates have followed the UK 1.5% interest rate CUT, leaving some on tracker or discounted deals paying historic lows. Pundits predict more rate cuts, though lenders won't necessarily pass them on. Ditch your fix…

Mortgage Arrangement Fees
Mortgage Arrangement Fees are typically £999 which in no way represents the cost to the Bank/Building Society of setting up the mortgage. As such, there should be a method of reclaiming. IS THERE? Warren

Mortgage fix now?
With the interest rates going down and having a tracker rate with no get out payment, is it worth me changing to a fixed rate mortgage asap, or should I give it another six months or so, to cash in on any more potential interest rate cuts. Is anyone giving good deals on fixed rate mortgages?

Mortgage help wanted - would it be beneficial to extend mortgage term??
I am one of the unluck ones who was advised to fix at 6.58% in September!! Regretting it now. We are fixed in for 2 yrs and would have to pay £921 ERC - which is an option. We owe £55,000 and our house is worth £180,000 and we currently have 14 years remaining. What I want to know and I'm struggling to work out is... how…

Advice - interest only mortgage - overpay or save?
Hi I'm on a great tracker interest-only mortgage at the moment, and wanted advice on the best thing to do now that the rates are down. I treat my i-only mortgage like a repayment one - overpaying when possible. My main question, is should I overpay more now (paying £900, mortgage around £460), or should I overpay less and…

Fixed rate re-mortgage application
My fixed term mortgage is due to expire the end of January so I went to barclays recently to see what new offers they had. We decided on a 3 year fixed at 5.89% but the mortgage advisor couldn't trigger the app. until the end of Oct (3 months before the current term ends). She said she had checked to see if the rate had…

Does mortgage overpayment count as savings for benefit purposes?
Currently overpay £300 a month and have about 30k 'overpayed' on our mortgage. Just a standard Discount tracker (yay!) but we overpay when we renew. On the statement it doesn't specify that we have overpayed so when I lose my job in a couple of weeks (Possibly) do I have to declare it??? We only have about 3k in the bank -…
