Expired credit on 3 PAYG!!
I was needing some advice. My 'emergency phone' on 3 was on PAYG. I used it rarely and I kept it topped up with credit on in the event of an emergency. Since then I haven't used it and when I tried to use it, it wouldn't work and turns out it was 'disconnected' by 3 due to inactivity. I had been told previously that credit…

3 months into 12 month contract Virgin hit me with a 50% increase
I took up an offer with Virgin Mobile in February for 1000mins + 1GB and unlimited texts. Yes it was an incredible offer...but today I got an email to tell me that the price is going up to £6 in July. Are they legally allowed to do this?! A 50% increase is excessive in my opinion.

Bit of advice needed!
I have been offered a phone from my daughter. She got a new one. The old phone is a Samsung S6 edge. It needs a new battery. I have looked on line and can get a genuine Samsung one for £6. Would I be able to install it myself or would I need to get it installed at a phone repair shop? I am not sure if it is unlocked. My…

Any networks that rolls over a top-up?
I have a phone for my son which he uses only to text me or my wife to let us know that he's back home from school and for emergencies. Therefore, when a month goes by, only about £3 could be used. Are there companies that allow any top-ups to be rolled over or do I have to keep topping up each month? I can see there are…

Do I have to use a 12 month SIM only card straight away?
This might be a really stupid question...but basically my SIM Only contract with Vodafone is ending in about 6 weeks time. However I want to take advantage of a special offer on a Sim Only deal while it's available. If I was to buy the Sim Only deal, can I hold onto it until my Vodafone 12 month contract ends in July, and…

Opinions/Experiences w. 3's Feel At Home?
Hiya folks, Going out to NY for the entirety of next month and saw 3 is doing incredibly cheap £10 monthly SIM contracts with 1gig of data and free international roaming. This completely blows ANY monthly american SIM contract out of the water. No doubt the coverage is completely nonexistent at this pricepoint, as I've…

Vodafone bill error and debt collection agency
Vodafone made a mistake on my final bill. They charged me for the whole month, but I was only with them for about 7 days. I didn’t want to pay the full amount, I asked for a new bill, and was told not to worry it will be sorted out. The new bill never materialised and I couldn’t log in as my account was closed. I heard…

Mobiplanet UME Limited premium rate scam
Hi all, My wife received an SMS telling her that she was subscribed to a premium rate service (actual service details unknown) for £4.50 a week - checked the bill and sure enough 2 payments had been posted to the bill. We dont have an email telling us the subscription had been started. Just this one after 2 weeks (and 2…

Vodafone contract end
My contract ends on June 20, apparently I can upgrade to sim only on the 21st, so does that mean I can give my 30 days notice tomorrow for it to end on the 21st? I'm after the best deal for sim only, and £14.50 for 5gb seems rather steep when I can get that with virgin for £9.

SIM that will be used only for receiving calls, not making them
I suffer pretty badly from insomnia, so I have my phone set to silent when it charges, i.e. I go to bed and charge it and it automatically goes to silent. I thought it would be a good idea to get a second phone as a backup, give the number to my family and close friends if there's ever an emergency so they can get hold of…

Premium rate reverse charged short codes without opt-in
Hi guys, Just thought I'd share what I'm currently dealing with and I'll keep you updated. For some time I've been receiving messages which I instantly dismissed as spam and ignored: I never click on adverts, I never fill in Facebook quizzes or fall for click-bait, I have Adblock installed when I browse, and I absolutely…

o2 sim card
Hi experts, I don't quite understand how pay-as you go works... I have a friend coming from abroad for 2,3 months (not EU). I bought the sim card for £1.- My question is: if I top up £10.- to that sim card, can he use it for 2,3 months? I just want to top up once... (not sure if that £10, expires after 30 days?!) He will…
