Virgin Mobile: Less than half price cross network calls (15p/min)
I did post this on the old forum but it got lost in the confusion... Last week I discovered how to make cross network calls on Virgin Mobile for only 15p/min instead of 35p/min. To do this you need to call the access number for Telesavers/Telestunt/Telediscount (they're all owned by the same company) for UK mobiles. These…

Dial-Thru companies (like Pre-dial)
Had a look at the list of countries you can dial via the 0844 number and its considerably shorter than the 0871 list. I know you can call the States for effectively 0.5p/min from 1899, so; Does anyone know if there are any companies (like Pre-Dial) in other countries (like USA)that use similar principles? this way you can…

saveonconferences.co.uk (conference calls)
Anyone have any recommendations about reliable good value conference call services? I would like to use one in my business. Best I have found so far is saveonconferences.co.uk. As far as I can tell, the way it works is any participants in the call dial an 0207 number (so that costs 1p, with 18866), then they input an…

It works great and I'm amazed - how are these people doing this? Quality is good - OK it sounds a little muffled, but then so do some ordinary phone calls. There's no…

Do 3 use Experian or Equifax
I think I have a dodgy credit rating with Experian cos Orange want a £150 deposit for a new phone after I've been over-doing the stoozing on new credit cards. Do 3 use Equifax? If they do, I'll give them a try. This is assuming Orange use Experian of course..... MattLG

E: unknown Nokia 7250i £39.95 Tesco
Noticed in my local Tescos yesterday that the Nokia 7250i on Tesco mobile is now at £39.95. None in stock though. Worth checking your local Tescos if you fancy one of these phones. This is the cheapest price I've seen for the 7250i. No expert but think they can be fairly easily unlocked.

Vonage - unlimited calls, no line rental, £9.99 per month
Is this too good to be true? http://www.vonage.co.uk/ This seems to be the first broadband-internet based (VoIP) telephone service that seems to compete with the BT line rental / discount call provider approach many of us MSE-wanna-be's use. For £9.99 per month they will give you an adapter so that you can use your normal…
