Porting my number to new phone - same network

I am coming up to the end of my contract with three. I want to keep my number but get a new phone via onestopphoneshop to get the half price contract.

Can I transfer, using a PAC code, my current number onto another networks PAYG tariff and then transfer, using a PAC code, the same number back to the new contract with three????

Any one managed this??

If so, whats the easiest/cheapest PAYG sim card to get and where can I get one?? Or is it better to buy a PAYG phone, sell the phone and use the SIM??

Thanks for any suggestions.

they might be a bit sh***y about it as orange were when I tried to leave them and be awkward but under OFTEL regulations they are obliged to do this (I belive)

Have a gander onto the freebies forums - a few free sims there. Best one I saw was T-Mobile which comes with a tenner credit - that should tide you over until you sign up onto a new deal

    The simple answer is YES.

example: Pac code from 3 - T-mobile PAYG - Pac code to whoever.

However it is advisable to stay with the new PAYG network for a few weeks and then ask for a PAC code otherwise they will charge you.

    Hope that helps.

  • Onestophoneshop may have good deals, but many people have complained about their delivery problems, fake promises and customer service, so a slight word of caution there.

Ask e2save or dialaphone for a price match with OSPS when you do decide to get a new contract. I have used both previously on many occasions and are
    very reliable.
