CPW: Free phone, 500mins, 100 txts for £1.74/month

The great £2.99 CPW offer is back on! Discussed last time here. Grab it while you can (again!)

Carphone warehouse are offering the Nokia 7600 video mobile on three for £2.99 per month.

You get 500 anytime any network minutes per month and 100 texts. I bought one of these phones and now use it instead of my landline!

Linemypocket.co.uk are currently offering £15 cashback on all pay monthly phones from CPW. This makes the total cost for the year £20.88 or £1.74 per month. Details here: http://www.linemypocket.co.uk/sitedetails.php?company=Carphone%20Warehouse

A word of warning though - the monthly cost is by cashback - you have to pay the full price of £30 per month but get the money back after 6 and 12 months. As its from Carphone warehouse I don't think you'll have a problem though!

  • Ok this might not be in the spirit of money saving, but as the offer seems to be time limited rather than quantity limited I don't see the harm in it.

These Nokia 7600s are currently selling on ebay for £65-£75. So if you were to buy an extra contract you could sell the second handset for a tidy profit. i.e including the cashback the contracts cost £20.88 for the whole year - so selling a handset for £65 gives a profit of £45 and leaves you with a lot of free mins/texts on the sim!
  • What you've gotta remember, though, is that you'll be paying out another £30 per month to carphone warehouse. I just about trust CPW enough to put £360 of my money at risk of a cashback default, but not sure about £720.

I had a problem once but they were most helpful. My bill did not "turn up" at their end, so obviously i thought they were trying to pull a fast one. But theuy let me fax it over and applied the credit straight away, even though by then it was outside of the 30 day limit.
  • woops... should have said the £15 cashback ends January 31st. The Nokia 7600 offer seems to come and go peridically.
