Advice on opening first S&S ISA between Vanguard and Trading212
Am thinking to finally open an S&S ISA for the first time, have narrowed my platform choice to Vanguard and Trading212. Wondered if anyone has opinions on which one they would go for. Vanguard for me has the size and reputation and the funds I'd probably begin with but Trading212 is fee free and also has Vanguard funds but…

How much can I deposit into my Help to Buy ISA at once?
I've got a Help to Buy ISA with Santander. I decided to invest most of my savings into stocks as the potential returns are higher than my 0.75% interest gained in my ISA. I'd like to sell some of my shares in about 3-4 years just before I'm about to put a deposit down on a house and put this money into the Help to Buy ISA…

Using both an Stock and Shares ISA and a General Investment Account - New To Investing
Hi, I'm very new to investing and I've got a Stock & Shares ISA with Trading212 and would like to transfer it to Vanguard to invest in their funds. The current ISA utalisation is minimal. The drawback of transfering to Vanguard is that I won't be able to buy individual stocks so still want to use Trading212 for that and it…

Should I have ETF's in my portfolio?
HI, I don't currently have any ETF's in my investment portfolio and whilst I've read a few articles which highlight the differences between them and funds, I'm not clear whether I need any or not! Investment portfolio (excluding pension) includes several funds and FCIT shares, but no ETF's. Are they an essential part of a…

Avoid NS&I – no Faster Payments means fewer (if any) Transfer options
NS&I cannot do faster payments and, in current (COVID)
situation many other providers won’t accept cheques. Because of this it's almost impossible
to transfer their Direct ISA to another provider. How rubbish is that! I’m thinking that my only option is to withdraw funds from
NS&I (it is for this financial year) and simply…

Platform diversity
Is it worth paying a premium to have S&S ISA platform diversity? Currently with II who have a fixed fee (£120/yr) but interested in transferring an Invesco ISA to a Vanguard fund under their own platform. The cheapest would be to move it to II too (and get their transfer bonus!) but then I’ll be over the FSCS threshold.…

Avoid NS&I at the minute (in my opinion) due to customer service issues.
I'll try to keep this brief and factual. - NS&I's customer service is effectively non-existent at the moment - with reference to article https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-8826131/NS-boss-really-really-sorry-meltdown.html - Their current service level agreement (SLA) on complaints is just over 2 months. -…

Transfer from help to buy to lifetime ISA
Hello. I've had a help to buy ISA for a few years so have about £7000 in there. I missed the boat on the original full transfer window into a lifetime ISA.
