Transfer from help to buy to lifetime ISA

Hello. I've had a help to buy ISA for a few years so have about £7000 in there.
I missed the boat on the original full transfer window into a lifetime ISA. I've just registered for one and I can transfer up to £4000 of my help to buy lifetime into new lifetime ISA (but won't be able to add any more money in this FY).
I wondered what will happen to my remaining ~£3000? I know I can keep both ISAs open, but can only claim bonus on one. But is it allowed to transfer the remaining £3000 into the lifetime ISA next FY, or is transfer from help to buy to lifetime a one off?
Thank you

You can transfer the other £3K once the next tax year starts in April - the limit is simply that you can put no more than £4K into a LISA per tax year from any source.

You can also add a further £1k into the LISA next tax year. Or if you have enough to use your LISA allowance each tax year anyway then you could just treat the HTB ISA as a high interest savings account.
