Should I have ETF's in my portfolio?

HI, I don't currently have any ETF's in my investment portfolio and whilst I've read a few articles which highlight the differences between them and funds, I'm not clear whether I need any or not! Investment portfolio (excluding pension) includes several funds and FCIT shares, but no ETF's. Are they an essential part of a sensible accumulation portfolio which I don't think Im likely to dip in to in the next 10 years?
Thanks

If you are happy with your funds then I don't see why you need any ETFs. Spicy ETFs are best avoided and the trackers have the same underlying assets as the fund versions. We only hold ETFs to cap platform fees but prefer funds.2
