Should I move money into an ISA maturity account?
Hi all, I'll try to make this question simple so people understand me... In November 2008 I put £3600 in to a Bradford and Bingley ISA. In November 2009 this matured and I was left with around £3800 and became an 'ISA Maturity Account'. I then (stupidly) moved the money OUT of the ISA Maturity Account in to just a normal…

Hi - don't know if anyone can help me here. Basically I want to open the above product - the Skipton 3.75% fixed ISA for my 2010/2011 money . I appreciate I have to open it before the issue closes but I am wondering if I can add to it once I have opened it? The terms and conditions are confusing and say that transfers in…

Closing 2009-2010 ISA account
I would like to open a new ISA account for the new tax year (2010-2011) with the same bank. I have an ISA account for the 2009-2010 tax year (again with the same bank), and haven't used the whole allowance yet. Is there a need to close the old ISA account, when I open a new one? The reason for closing the old one is that I…

What are we supposed to do with our savings,Mr Brown ?
If you're like me you've invested in a cash-isa every year up to the limit and so have a handy amount saved. So,as of april 6 you'll be looking to transfer that as your rate of return is about to take it's annual hit. But with inflation running at 3.5% and the best transfer in rates around 2.7% what's the point in saving ?…

Monthly or Annual
Hi Been looking at a fixed rate isa- 1 year fixed annual interest At 2.75-Monthly interest 2.73 4 year fixed annual interest At 4.25-Monthly interest 4.23 Now the difference only being .02 are you better taking monthly so get compounded interest. Also if for whatever reason you have to withdraw money with an interest…

Reactivating Cash ISA
If I made a deposit in a Cash ISA for the 2009/ 2010 tax year but currently do not plan to make a deposit for the 2010/ 2011 tax year, does that mean that as long as I make a deposit before 5 April 2011, I won't need to reactivate the Cash ISA? Thanks in advance.

Old & New ISA
Hi, I've managed to save around £2500 in my current Barclays ISA, opened in around October. When April comes, do I have to stay with Barclays, or can I transfer all of this money without using my ISA limit up? If I can, what bank is offering the best interest rate? I don't mind locking the money away for a year or two…

Two,Three and Four Year FR Isa's
I am reconsidering my ISA strategy and am thinking about transferring my current ISAs, worth around £20K into a Three or Four Year deal at about 3.75% or 4.25%. I know the perceived wisdom is that rates will rise but if they do not, then you tie into a decent rate and as someone else pointed out, if you invest at lower…

Split old cash ISA into 2 Santander cash ISA's?

So much for the credit crunch
Brown has given so much of our money to the banks that they clearly don't need any in the form of savings - as evidenced by the heinously low ISA rates available. A true triple-whammy for anyone who "did the right thing" & lived within their means / saved. First rig the inflation figures by removing housing & most of those…

L&G flexible mortgage isa
I've had this s&s isa for 10 years now and it has gone from £121 back then to £2741 now (that's with regular contributions of say between £20 to £30 per month over the years). On my back of a a fag packet calculations - it's languishing. However I daren't touch it because it's been set up to pay half the mortgage and I…

Barclays statement for 2009/2010
Hi I’ve just receive my Golden ISA statement and I’m confused. I thought their interest rate dropped at 2.58% some stage, but on my statement says: Credit interest rate: 2.55% In addition to the rate(s) above, currently your account is also receiving an introductory bonus of 1% gross. Also if I calculate the rate applied…

Isa question
Apologies if this has been asked or answered previously. Would I be able to open an Isa tomorrow with only £1 & then top it up to the £3600 limit after April 5th? I haven't opened an Isa this tax year & don't have the available funds to use up my full allowance. I was hoping to open a Santander Flexible 3.5% Isa for 09/10…
