I've had this s&s isa for 10 years now and it has gone from £121 back then to £2741 now (that's with regular contributions of say between £20 to £30 per month over the years).
On my back of a a fag packet calculations - it's languishing.
However I daren't touch it because it's been set up to pay half the mortgage and I don't want to tinker with it in case it explodes.
I would really welcome some advice on my options.

Hmm - does not sound a great return if you paid in regularly say £20 a month, £240 a year.
£2400 in 10 years.
plus £121
£2521
Total gain so far = £220 ?
Think you need to work out how much exactly you have paid in and then do a comparison of what it is returning now per year as a bulk amount and compare to say a cash only isa.0 -

It wouldnt be
a) its a FTSE tracker
b) its monthly and we have just had a major market drop.then do a comparison of what it is returning now per year as a bulk amount and compare to say a cash only isa.
You cant compare the two. Its a bit like asking you to compare a boeing 747 and a Mini. If you ask the question, which is best for the school run you will get a different answer to which is best to get you to Australia.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
