Can you freeze an ISA
We have a Scottish widows stocks and shares ISA. It is losing money at the moment. However, that is not the main reason we would like to freeze if that is possible. Money is very tight at the moment and we are looking at what we can cut back on (temporarily). So, can you freeze an ISA? And are there any associated costs…

Stocks and shares ISA
I would really appreciate any opinions on this: Earlier this year I openend my first S&S ISA by transferring a previous cash ISA and also investing more. My selected funds have done very well, but now I am getting worried about a downwards turn in the market so am thinking of selling. Am I correct in thinking that in order…

Fixed rate ISA question.
My question is about when a fixed rate ISA matures. My guess is that they put it in a lower rate ISA. That means I would have to than set up a transfer to somewhere else. How much time do you lose between the fixed rate ISA maturing and it being transfered? What do you do please? Thank you.

Wrong date on ISA statement
Hi there - Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the following problem? I opened a Cash Isa at the end of March this year, and received a letter in the post, dated 4th April, telling me that my application has been complete and my ISA now fully open. ie this was for last years tax allowance. However, on my bank…

ISA help - please
I have a couple of queries: 1. can money saved in an ISA be used when means testing for benefits etc. The reason for asking is that I would prefer to put my money into an ISA rather than a pension. However, I'm wary that in saving for my old age I could leave myself exposed if I lose my job in the future and need to claim…

Cash ISAs - are the rates worth it?
I have had a cash ISA for years without really thinking about it, just figured it was a good thing to do as it's tax free. Now I have 10k coming out of a bond which has matured and am looking for somewhere else to save it, which got me thinking am I doing the right thing having the ISA? The best rate I can see for a cash…

Stocks and Shares ISA - Which funds?
I have setup a Stocks and Shares ISA with Hargreaves Lansdowne, and want to set up regular payments of £300 per month. I am investing for the long term (10 years plus). The list of available funds is bewildering, and I'm not sure which ones to go for. I would say my attitude to risk is adventurous. I would be most grateful…

First Direct e-ISA vs Manchester BS Premier ISA 35 vs Chelsea BS Postal 30
I filled out the web form for the First Direct 3% ISA last week, but having looked a bit further it looks like a slow application process, especially in these times of postal strikes:* You fill in your name and address on the website * They send you a form to fill in and sign * You send it back * They set up your account…

Kent Reliance - ISA tops ups
I have a Cash ISA with Kent Reliance, am over 50 and was reminding myself that October 6th is not too far away to start thinking about topping it up. I know KR are not terribly big but this reiterates my feeling about their personal levels of customer service. This morning a letter from them arrived, reminding me of the…

Regular saver cash ISA
Having opened a regular saver ISA in May 09 that requires 12 monthly payments, my last payment will be in tax year 2010/11! Does this mean I can't open another cash ISA in 2010/11?

Did I read correctly in last sundays mail which got disposed of before I could check, that the inland revenue turn a blind eye if you open a second isa and maybe transfer your existing, as long as you don't invest more than the yearly limit ?
